Tilted Kilt Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery is a modern Scottish-Irish-themed sports pub and franchisor-type restaurant chain in the United States and Canada.
Sarah's expectations weren't met and shared her opinion on yelp.com, "So disappointed. Today I had a taste for some hot wings and decided to go with Tilted Kilt. My chicken was rubbery/slimy, the sauce lacked total flavor& my fries were overcooked and tasted like they were fried in oil that desperately needs to be changed. I regret not just going to McDonald's... I would have saved a few bucks and had a better meal."
Former Employee - Waitress says"The management is poorly constructed, and they show favoritism to certain employees. The money isn’t good enough for the toxic atmosphere."
Former Employee - Server/Waitress says"Customers feel entitled to touch and harass waitresses, and management does nothing about it."
Former Employee - Manager says"Everything, every day, all the time"
Former Employee - Barback says"Pretty much everything really, the owners didn’t care about our store and was shut down eventually"
Former Employee - Entertainer says"Horrible management. Extremely toxic work environment. Long hours with no pay off. Tips are hit or miss. Micromanaging is unbearable to deal with. Managers have favorite waitresses that are immune to any sort of punishment and non favorites get yelled at for the smallest of reasons that most other managers at other restaurants would turn a blind eye to because the reasons are literally that petty (e.i not noticing when bar patrons meander to a table without notifying anyone on a busy night if we don’t see them sit in out section we get yelled at even if they still have a tab open at the bar). When people walk out without paying servers are responsible and written up for it. Often times guests will leave to go smoke outside and never come back."
says"Insane expectations, lack of response from ownership, no real benefits, OSHA nightmare."
Server/Bartender says"Management does not have your back Essentially a strip club but with kilts"
Former Employee - Server Trainer/Bartender says"Management was not properly trained and stole from the employees and company. The franchise owner was unwilling to create business by offering specials. I actually had two locations close their doors without notice to it's employees. Not a company I would recommend...it doesn't take care of it's employees."
Former Employee - Entertainer says"VERY POOR MANAGEMENT, managers don't care if men are being inappropriate with you, managers violate their employees sexually and verbally"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Bad management Money wise wasnt worth it, hooters was better for tips"
Bartender (Current Employee) says"Working at the Tilted kilt as both a bartender and a server I would not recommend working at the tilted kilt for many reasons but the biggest ones being the degrading comments and lack of communication between the three day to day managers. The hostility in the work place is shocking. The drama between girls, they allow the girls to bully one another, as well as the communication between management is non existent. Discounted food and amazing regulars with good tipsDrama, poor management"
Kitchen Staff Member (Former Employee) says"I am glad I have the job. It came at a time where I needed work and wasn't finding it. The restaurant specializes in bar food with a few Irish-themed items to stay somewhat aligned with the theme. The downside of all that is the management does not seem interested in keeping the staff at least somewhat happy. They promise hours and then cut those hours whenever they feel like it."
Restaurant Manager (Former Employee) says"I cannot believe how terrible people treat others. It's like the store was always filled up with nothing but crabby people, maybe its just Jacksonville. but we also had girls intentionally not wearing undergarments to make "extra money" It was a very gross and twisted environment. I'm glad the company has gone under.FUN during the UFC fightsterrible quality of employees... no one really cares about their job."
Cook (Current Employee) says"The real you into this place with all these GREAT PROMISES and how they are all FAMILY and they REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES!! Lol on that note! Working there was just a bunch of guys standing around on their phones and hiding from managers then when managers came back to check on everything the guys tried to make them think they had been busting their butts and the managers would let them know THEY WERE DOING A GREAT JOB! They do not care if they loose ppl or not. I was told as long as we have a warm body in the spot we will make it through the day!Nothing GOODEverything BAD"
Restaurant General Manager (Former Employee) says"Lousy owner operator and her best friend was a bad useless help. Would never work for one again. No organization and no support a misguided location. Not friendly.noneowner"
Hostess (Former Employee) says"The one I worked at closed down. I would never work at a place like this. Managers did not care if someone was harassing you and they never made you feel comfortable."
Server (Former Employee) says"Basically can be summed up with very poor managemnent. I was told by one of my tables that another one of the servers were talking trash about me to them when brought up to the manager he told me he didn’t think she would do that. I asked him if he wanted to go ask my table and he just said no he wouldn’t ask the table. I told another employee I wasn’t happy with the way things were going there. She immediately went to him and told him he brought me Into the office and said you don’t like working here? Well you’re fired. And the bartender followed me to the dressing room and watched and waited while I changed out of their outfit to hand it back to them(even though it was an outfit I paid 100 for) and took them over 3 months of me calling and hounding them before they would give me the money back for the outfit. Also the pain from serving for 10 hrs in 2 inch heels is unimaginable. It’s unfortunate for the franchisees the kind of management the tilted kilt brand chose, the reason for the company going into the gutter.NoneManagement is the worst, long hours, don’t care about employees feelings at all"
MANAGER an entry level office (Former Employee) says"Nothing about this place professional. The climate is stressful. The staff is disrespectful. The owners are impulsive, and there is little hope for this business."
Lead Server/Marketing coordinator (Former Employee) says"Think twice before working for Tilted Kilt. So many of their locations have closed down recently. Poor management, I worked for them for 5 years and have seen the business just slow down completely.Half off food while at workNo money to be made"
Server (Current Employee) says"High turnover rate, managers are always moody, not ever praised for a job well done. Fire many associates quickly. Food and drinks are rather expensive. The only busy days are on Thursday nights for Latin Night. Other than that, the restaurant is never busy.Discounted mealsNever given hours, unfair work practices"
Server (Former Employee) says"The customers at TK were some of the best, however the management was awful. They played favorites, so if you didn't go out and party with the female managers or let the male manager sexually harass you, you got the worst table sections, sent home early, or belittled. Managers let girls underage bartend, but passed up the girls who were of age, with the proper qualifications-all because they favored the other girls."
Dishwasher (Former Employee) says"always Busy never a boring moment it can be very loud or dead quite depending what time of day it is and if there is an event going on I just like the fact that I always had something to dopaylong hours"
General Manager (Former Employee) says"This particular location is franchise owned, so all I can do is critique its owners. Basically they didn't know what the heck they were doing. Very cheap, ran the place to the ground, and me as well."
General Manager (Current Employee) says"The owner of the San Antonio pub does not follow through on any of his promises. They have had 11 managers quit in the last 6 months. That should tell you something right there.NoneToo Many to list"
Bartender (Former Employee) says"terrible customers, the bar isnt thriving at all. there is a lot of problems with co workers and management. Very bad location"
Server (Former Employee) says"My typical day at work involved of receiving requests all throughout my shift, even right before I was going to clock out. My section was always full and some of my guests knew that it was a fun environmentwe could actually sit down with our guests and create that professional relationship with themthe younger girls got more attention by the general manager, little to no advancement, some girls were treated differently because they were the favorites, the gm would make sexist and racist remarks, the company wouldn't allow different shifts to attend classes to become trainers"
Barback (Former Employee) says"Franchisee is letting the restaurant be run by her personal friend who is running it into the ground. Absolutely the worst company I've had the displeasure of working for. They have been through several GMs and AGMs and haven't been open for business but a year if even that long. Horrible food, and can't pass inspections. I advise anyone who is thinking about working for or even going to eat at Tilted Kilt in Midland, TX to run as fast as you can in the opposite direction! Don't do it!NoneEverything"
waitress (Former Employee) says"Learned a lot of skills in my earlier years. Traits such as bartending and social skills.I do not miss the environment or management.wide range of customersDress code, Managment, Crude customers"
Kitchen Manager (Former Employee) says"Morning started at 6am and would work somedays 18 hrs, 7 days a week. Over a 115 hour work weeks. Daily routine would be training, ordering, planning, cooking and overseeing all operations in the back of the house. With not being able to function under those conditions I left the Tilted Kilt.free mealsno breaks, 115+ hour work weeks, 7 days a week"
Entertainer (Former Employee) says"this job was not for me. i got treated poorly, underpaid and management was horrible. Also, way too many dress code requirements that were extremely degrading.noneall"
